Who do I make the check out to? Laughing Loon Day Camp

Is lunch and snack included? Yes! We serve a hot lunch every day at 11:30 am with options of sun butter (peanut butter substitute) & jelly sandwiches and salad bar. A light afternoon snack is provided around 3 pm daily.

Should I pack extra food for my camper? You may pack small snacks for your camper if they tend to get hungry during the day. Please refrain from sending anything with nuts or nut products, as there are food allergies almost every week.

What if my child is a picky eater can I pack them a lunch? Sure! However because many of the children have food allergies, please refrain from packing anything with nuts or nut products (peanut butter, granola bars, trail mix) and note that the meal will remain in your campers back pack until @ 11:30 am when we eat lunch so make sure it will stay edible during that time.

Will my children be together? Our day camp serves 30 children each week and we keep them together except for activity times. Every period campers have a choice of which activity they would like to do, if your children choose the same activity then they will be together.

How do you assign swim levels and is there swim instruction? All campers are evaluated on Monday by our lifeguards and swim instructors. Lessons are held three times a week (Tues.-Thurs.) for 1/2 an hour.  Your child will be placed in one of three swim levels:  Polliwog/Guppy (beginner), Minnow (intermediate) Shark (advanced).   If your child is placed in the beginner swim level they are welcome to swim in "Pool 1" (0-4' in depth) without a life preserver and may still utilize the water trampoline and boats. They must, however, wear a life jacket when swimming in "Pool 2" (4-8' in depth).

What ages does my camper need to be to participate in boating? 8-12 yr olds are allowed to be in a kayak by themselves while under the supervision of a lifeguard, 6-7 yr olds must be in canoe accompanied by a staff member. All campers are allowed to use the water trampoline.

What is the Day Camp Overnight? Overnights take place every Thursday Evening from 5pm until pick up time on Friday.  In this program Campers assist in putting up tents, building a campfire, cooking dinner over a fire, and sleeping out in the Day Camp Field.  Boys and Girls will be sleeping in separate tents but will be in the same location.  The cost for this extra program is $25 per child and we recommend that you fill out your permission slip and return it to camp with your payment ahead of time as we can only accommodate 10-12 kids per Overnight. Payments are non-refundable/non-transferable if your child needs to be picked up early for any reason.

What if it rains during the Overnight? If it rains or weather is predicted to be unsafe we will be camping out indoors in our Roehrig Center. In this instance boys and girls will be sleeping in the same space but not next to each other.

How old do campers need to be to participate in the Day Camp Overnights? Campers must be 9-12 yrs old to participate in this program.

What do you do if it rains at Camp? We will stay outside and continue our normal activities if it is sprinkling or drizzling out.  If there are heavy rains we will, most likely, be in the Day Camp Arts & Crafts room playing games, doing crafts, etc. or in the top of the Todaro Leadership Center watching a "G" rated movie on the big screen.  As soon as the rain stops or dies down we will be back outside carrying on with our normal schedule. If a storm strikes while we are down in lower camp we may stay at the Dining Halls until it is safe to go back outside. If you need to know exactally where we are because you need to pick your camper up early just call Megan Fichter @ 603-520-8657 or the Camp Office at 603-569-2725.

What is the Friday Field Day? Friday Field Day is a time when parents and family members can join in the Day Camp fun and participate in Laughing Loon games and S'more roasting, it's a chance for parents to meet their children’s' new found friends and get to know the Staff. This event is held every Friday during camp from 3:00pm-4:30pm. If you will be attending, please park at the regular drop off location and walk to the Day Camp Field.

Where is the Day Camp Field? If you are coming from the Todaro Leadership Center, simply follow the dirt road past the horse pasture, bear right toward the tennis courts (on your right) and it is the first field on your left.
