Sandy programming Traditions
Boat Cruises: A Sunday night trip to Weirs Beach, a Tuesday afternoon shopping spree in Wolfeboro, a Wednesday evening cruise to Meredith, a children’s adventure on Thursday morning to the Weirs, moonlight excursions and junior pilots cruises are all favorites with campers
Line Dancing: Youngsters and oldsters attend our family dances three times a week; learn the steps to Sandy island favorites; Amos Moses, Bossa Nova, Cotton-Eye Joe, Salty Dog, New York - New York, etc. . . etc. . . etc
Water Carnival: A Friday morning activity including team competition, swimming contests, skits, dancing, and lots of water fun
Talent Show: A Thursday evening tradition where campers and staff, from preschoolers to the Camp Director, entertain in group performance and individual acts
Sunday Softball Game: Campers versus staff in a friendly competition for adults and teens
Movies: Sunday is family night showing Disney films and children’s favorites; Wednesday evening is for adults and teens to enjoy recent releases and old favorites.
We offer activites that enrich guests of all ages. Children & Teen programs are supervised by trained, experienced staff allowing parents the benefits of a family vacation while enjoying time alone.
For the Kids
Little Red Schoolhouse: Preschoolers ages 3-5 years enjoy a three-hour program filled with arts and crafts, story time, picnics, games, music and swim classes.
CAVE: (Creativity, Adventure, and Exploration) Ages 6-8 years, love the action filled program of canoeing, arts and crafts, music, swimming and nature trips.
Juniors: Ages 9-12 years, fill their days with activities that include team-building exercises, environmental education, arts and crafts, music, and challenge course.
For Teens
Teen Program: Teens participate in adventure-filled activities that introduce new challenges and develop skills in: canoeing, fishing, music, dance, ropes course, sailing and nature appreciation.
Instructional Programs
Tennis: Both Beginner and Intermediate tennis lessons are available to children and adults. Each week five sessions are held (1hr. for adults, 1/2 hr. for children) on techniques for forehand, backhand, serve, lob, volley and the rules of play.
Swimming: Certified water safety instructors teach basic swimming skills in 45-minute sessions as part of CAVE and Junior programs.
Sailing: Sailing instruction is offered three times a week for 1.5 hrs. Campers must have passed basic swim test to be eligible.
